*Currently this is a North America-only contest.

Welcome to our first Create challenge.

The Spook-a-Boo Create Contest.

We’d like to thank all the Players who participated in the High Score competition, we’ll have more of those for you down the line. This week, we’re kicking off a contest for the Creators. Halloween is just around the corner and as such, we want you to create a quick level that will spook us or make us laugh, your choice! There is a level template on the GalaxyContests account that you must copy and use as a basis for your level. Make sure you read all the following details and have fun creating a great Halloween level!

Spook-a-Boo Create Contest GXY-002

Level Template Name

GXY-002 Halloween Template [Search tip: Simply do a text search for GXY-002]

PSN Account ID

GalaxyContests [Search tip: Enter a text search for @GalaxyContests]

Description

Your task is to create a fun or scary level that fits within the dark matter outline in the template. You are also given objects in the template. You will have to choose 3 of those objects and use them in your level. Sticker them, decorate them however you want. You can use them on their own or attach them to your own creations (i.e. use them as a head, an arm, a rock :P ).

Just to serve as examples, here are 2 of those objects:

And here they are after I got done modifying them!

So go crazy, make whatever you want out of those objects and show us your skill!

Rules:

1) For your level to be eligible, you must have met the criteria mentioned in the description above.

2) You must have placed a LittleBigPlanetGalaxy sticker in your level. It may be at the very beginning or at the very end, or cleverly sneaked into your level wherever you please. This will not affect how we judge your level, so feel free to just place it simply or integrate it as you want to. However, make sure it is visible in a main area of your level.

3) Your level name must include the contest prefix. Simply add GXY-002 at the beginning of your title.

4) You need to be a member in the forums. Just sign up, make sure to include your PSN ID in your profile. We will be handing out the code for the costume set via private message to the winner.

5) Once you’re signed up and your level is created, tell us its name and your PSN ID in this thread.

6) As it stands right now this contest is only available to North America.

* Finally this isn’t a rule, just a note. This contest is obviously short for a create contest. We’re not expecting thermo busting levels here, we just want to see some neat uses of the objects and have a laugh or a scare while playing your level, so take the deadline as a challenge to put out something short and catchy! (And maybe win a costume set!)

Prize:

The winning entry will earn you a North American PSN code for the “Monsters” costume pack. Check here for all the details on this awesome set.

The top 3 levels will also be showcased on the site so that all can have a go at them on Halloween weekend!

Deadline:

Saturday October 23rd @ 23:59 / 11:59PM EST (Eastern Time)

We will be checking level published and re-published dates as we judge the entries, so make sure you don’t re-publish your level for any reason after this deadline until the winners are announced.

Have fun and good luck to everyone!

Great, love the costumes! Though I won’t be able to do it, so I’ll be sure to catch the next one. AND I love the NEW back-round, AWESOME decorating BY the WAY. What do you use to make the picture mashes?

I use Photoshop ;) I hear a lot of people use Gimp as well to do this kind of thing (Gimp is free). Oh and I use my Wacom pen tablet for a lot of the finer details. Also, Cstrfrk used a 3d render program to make the cemetery background but I’m not sure what it’s called.

        Thank you… :-)

Hey there ;) Yeah, I use Photoshop for everything. For the 3d render in the background I used Vue. Pretty awesome program. Mainly used for creating 3d landscapes.
