Category 1 – The Best Level

There was once a time when I would never laugh during a LittleBigPlanet level, levels just simply weren’t funny back then, but recently, more and more creators seem to be making chucklesome levels, and it’s all thanks to the Bluetooth headset. Change That Channel 2! (Now with more channels) (Film) by Embletini really made me laugh. Some of the scenes were just hilarious, but it wasn’t only the comedy that was top draw. The cameras and camera angles on this level were quality and like nothing I’d seen before, it was just like watching a movie or TV programme.

Category 2 – The Most Unique Level

I imagine that most LBP creators are either British, American, or Japanese (just because these are where gaming is most popular). So it was nice to see a new country join the LBP community. MicGorbachev is from Russia, and Russia is what his unique level is based on. The Wheels Of Revolution is a simple platformer really, but it’s the story adns etting that make this level unique. Just by looking at the level you can tell it’s inspired by Russia, the music is fitting too. An enjoyable level that anyone can pick up and play.

Category 3 – The Most Artistic Level

We all know _Special_D_ is a great creator, but he hadn’t made a level for a while. Why? Well I guess it’s because he was working on this looker. The setting seems to be inspired heavily by Ima-Taka’s Bora Bora Island, but what you actually do in the level is totally different. The setting looks great and so do all the vehicles you can drive/ride. Can’t get away somewhere hot and special this summer? Well you can in LBP.

Category 4 – The Level I Want More Of

Or should I say levelS. I don’t know if this was only broadcasted in Britain but there was once a cartoon by Aardman called Wallace & Gromit, you’ve probably heard of it. Anyway, I used to watch them as a kid and a film came out about 3 years ago, something like ‘the curse of the wererabbit.’ Anyway, Ladonna2 has re-created one of the episodes in LBP where they fly to the moon to find cheese, but instead of Wallace & Gromit, they’ve used Sackboy & Fluff. It’s exactly the same idea though and the story is no different to the original. But what I found astounding was how everything looked so accurate, the orange spaceship looked just as I remembered a good ten years ago. Since there were a few more episodes I don’t see why the creator can’t make more. Well done, you are the first creator to get 4 levels in one POTW episode. Sackboy And Fluff. Part 1, The Rocket. Part 2, Moon Adventure. Part 3, Going Home Or Not? Part 4.

Category 5- Special Recognition

An entry for LittleBigPlanetCentrals ‘No Floor’ contest. I always knew these levels were going to be creative seen as you can’t use the floor, but this one is extraordinary. In most of the LBPC1 levels, creators over use bounce pads because it’s an easy way to get rid of the floor. But Natuhito has done something very different with (LBPC1) Gusty Forest. He has invented a whole new way of playing LittleBigPlanet. Rather than relying on bounce pads, Sackboy basically flys now. Well, glides, but what wonderful gliding it is. Let the wind take you through this indulging level where you must avoid spikes, time your ‘grabs’, and defeat an inventive boss at the end. Not only does it play anaqzingly, but it has wonderful visuals too. If this level doesn’t win the contest I’ll change my name to Logan Lattenberry.

There we have it! That’s all the levels for this week! Come on creators, lets beat the record next week eh? I hope you’ve enjoyed this weeks episode, if you haven’t let me know why on the Picks Of The Week Facebook page, or you can send a message to MBXIGaming1 on YouTube. Until next week, happy gaming!
