Hi sacks!

I’m back from Belgium with a lot to catch up on, but I’m rearing to go. I have quite a bit to get through today with news and another post, but for now, lets focus on the picks of the week. We have 11 of them, and here they are…

  1. Hikari’s Platformer 1 – attacker444
  2. The Blighted Isle – P-I-M-P-1
  3. (LBPC1) Experiment: Unknown – Se-mia92
  4. Makeshift Castle – IDeathKidI
  5. Knights & Fort – O-tera
  6. Da Vinci’s Tea Time – Jplusk
  7. (LBPC1) Circuit Breaker – UberorbPS
  8. Weekly Dose Of Random [Week 2] – Chatchito
  9. The Tell Tale Heart (Thriller/Horror Movie) – MuddledMuppet
  10. The Printz Diaries, Prologue: Cityscapes And Dreamscapes – Rialrees
  11. All About Farting Heart For Fart! – MuddledMuppet

Category 1 – The Best Level

This level holds a great story and makes wonderful use of the 3D tool. It is only a prologue which means there is more to come. That level is The Printz Diaries, Prologue: Cityscapes And Dreamscapes by Rialrees. It is not only a great story but also makes use of the bluetooth headset. I love it when creators use their own voices to help move a level along, and it has certainly worked here, I look forward to the next part…

The Printz Diaries

Category 2 – The Most Unique Level

Normally when you see levels with the title like, heart for fart! Or, farting fun! You know it’s going to be rude and terrible. But in this case, you see the name MuddledMuppet and the mood is lightened in an instant. That’s why his unique All About Farting Heart For Fart is the winner of this category. There aren’t many farting levels (thank goodness) and apart from this one, none of them are good. So when I actually found my self immaturely chuckling (especially at the dinner scene), I realised that MuddleMuppet has nailed the farting genre. If there ever was one…

All About Farting Heart For Fart

Category 3 – The Most Artistic Level

I remember when I played Gregorythegamers “Da Vinci’s Library, and I thought, this level looks beautiful and has that Da Vinci feel to it. That brown, red and all sorts colour. So if a level were ever to remind me of Gregs one, it would make it for POTW. Enter stage, Da Vinci’s Tea Time by Jplusk. It doesn’t have much of a story other than that Da Vinci has lost his tea so you need to get it for him. But in this category, it’s not the story that counts, it’s the visuals, and in this level, the visuals are top draw. The platforming is also very enjoyable and I reckon it’s a level that could be a story level if you didn’t know any better.

Category 4 – The Level I Want More Of

It’s nice to know that we will most definitely be getting more of these levels seen as ‘weekly’ is in the title. Yup, you guess it, Weekly Dose Of Random [Week 2] by Chatchito takes home this category this week. Why? Because this level was actually kinda funny and definitely entertaining. It also has an interesting art style which made it fight for the artistic category is well. Keep them coming Chatchito…

Weekly Dose Of Random [Week 2

Category 5 – Special Recognition

This wonderful level reminded me a lot of Heavy Rain when Ethan is always blaming himself. And also a touch of XBOX 360′s Alan Wake simply because of the environment and setting. Anyway, it’s a masterpiece from start to end and probably has some of the best voice acting in a LBP level ever. That is MuddledMuppet‘s The Tell Tale Heart (Thriller/Horror Movie). This had one of the greatest stories on LBP all about a man who has done some killing (brilliantly voice acted by MM himself…) and he has gone kind of… insane. Anyway, this is voice acting better than Media Molecule, better than anything you’ve ever heard in LBP. Truly phenomenal. Well done MuddledMuppet for winning two categories this week, a great achievement.

The Tell Tale Heart

Alright folks! We’ve come to the end of another POTW episode. Before I finish, I have a couple of things to show you. Firstly, some exciting news, a lad called Brendan Maldonado has ‘liked’ the POTW Facebook page. No big deal right? Wrong, this chap used to work for Naughty Dog so to have him like the facebook page is a pretty big deal. So if your reading this Brendan, thanks!

Secondly (and finally) I just want to show off my favourite pic I took on my journey in Belgium. Enjoy…

Lochnager Crater

That’s it for this week folks! Look out for POTW on Saturday (back to normal) and look out for another post later today.

Until then, happy gaming!

Hey and thanks very much for picking my level, a great honour!
Interesting (well, maybe) story, I had published The tell Tale Heart and was pretty proud of it, but got virtually no plays… so… cunning plan time! Myself and Zack (WCF7__) decided to make a fart film purely to get us some plays by linking it to all About Farting. Sadly, All About Farting got about 10,000 plays in a day or two, while Tell tale Heart peaked at about 5,000. I guess if you want plays go for low low humour is the moral here hehehe.

When you get th etime please do check my level Breathe into Life, I am insanely proud of this one. It is an original songwot i wroted on guitar a while ago, and decided to try putting it on LBP. The fantastic rialrees shares vocals, and her hubbie Radio_Statik gave me a hand with percussion. we then asked about 20 LBP players to produce a piece of art that in their mind reflected the song, and I was rewarded with some simply stunning images to form a montage while the song plays.

Currently brain dead and trying unsuccessfully to script Dawn of the New Enlightenment, the sequel to my film The Day I Changed The World.

    Thanx again,

    MM
