Not much to say yet but given that this thing has dual thumbsticks and graphics as good as the PS3, I’m excited. Are you? Tell us in the comments ;)

Revolutionary User Interface, Social Connectivity, Location-based Entertainment, Converging Real and Virtual (augmented) Reality. It will be compatible with the PlayStation Suite.

Specs include a 5-inch touchscreen OLED display with 960 x 544 resolution, dual analog sticks (not nubs as on the current generation), 3G, WiFi, GPS, a rear-mounted touchpad, the same accelerometer / gyroscope motion sensing as in the PlayStation Move, an electronic compass, and cameras on both the front and back. Oh, and the CPU is described as “the most advanced” in its class. Available this holiday season. (at least in Japan)

I have heard many times that the “PSP2″ is a lie (just like the cake in portal??) but I might be wrong…

It’s been a longtime rumored device. But this is the official announcement. They are calling it the NGP (Next Gen Portable). In other words, this is not a rumor, but an official product now ;)

Why is it every time I see an Sony product, I have two immediately conflicting reactions: “THAT IS COOL!” and “I hate you, Sony – because I know nothing you make is compatible with anything I already have!” lol Oh, and let’s not forget how much the DLC is gonna be?

Well if you bought downloadable games from the PSN they will be compatible. You can’t start demanding that everything be backwards compatible. UMD is over, it was never a great option to begin with anyway. The thing about the PS3 is that it was b-compatible and then the feature was removed. That’s not cool. But if it had been non b-compatible from the get-go, then you would have known to keep your PS2 and just got a PS3 when you were ready. Technology moves on, and quickly at that, You can’t expect old games to play on new devices forever.

You have a point. At least PS3 is compatible with PS1 games, and Sony has patented a converter that allows PS2 support on a PS3. (at least in Japan)

Ah man, I’ll just put it on the ol’ credit line if I have to :P Can’t wait to play Uncharted and shooters like Killzone on the go. This is what the original PSP wanted to achieve but never could. I was excited then and I am even more excited now!
