I’m proud to introduce our first competition.

The High Flying High Score Competition.

Contests are nothing new in the LittleBigPlanet universe, but they are almost exclusively for creators.   With this contest, we’re hoping to change that trend. Here’s the deal. We were throwing ideas around and we originally wanted to do a create contest, but we realized thanks to some skillful players that Going Up 2 would be a perfect playground for a competition. So I went in, tweaked a few things and added a some races to make sure it’s virtually impossible for two people to get the exact same score. Looking down the road, we hope to involve you creators out there by featuring your levels as the centerpiece for future contests.

Description

For this competition, you will have to be be flying, flinging and fast!  The event is set through a variety of races and rotating trees. The trees are right in your path and you’ll have to master them, but some of the races might be a little hidden.  If you want to get the high score, you’re going to have to get to know the level like the back of your PS3 controller… Oh wait, maybe a little better than that. Point is, there are bubbles to find in hidden or hard to get to areas. There are hidden race starts and race ends. One race actually has two finish lines, the secret one is a lot closer so you’ll have to find it to get more points. Don’t forget to string bubbles together to get maximum combo points. And I’m sure the top contenders will figure out smart ways to maximize all the points they can gather.

Eligibility:

1) To be eligible to win, you must have completed the level in single player.  This is the only mode that will be tallied.
2) You need to be a member in the forums. Just sign up, make sure to include your PSN ID in your profile.  We will be handing out the code for the costume set via private message to the winner.

3) This is a bit of a bummer. As it stands right now this contest is only available to North America. Bummer has been lifted! We’ll be able to give the code to whoever wins, whether you are from North America or Europe!

Prize:

The highest score will earn you a North American PSN code for the “More Animals” costume pack.  Check here for all the details on this awesome set.

Deadline:

Sunday October 3rd @ 23:59 / 11:59PM EST (Eastern Time, just before midnight)

At this time the level will be locked until we announce the winner, after which it will be reopened for anyone to enjoy.
