Ok so I’ve been trying to upload these to LBPG for god knows how long, but WordPress always used to mess it up somehow. Anyway, the latest update has a special button specifically for YouTube embed codes, so we’ll be having a lot more videos here!

Journey comes to LBP – how cool is this?

Every time a new pack of goodies is announced on LittleBigPlanet, it always surprises me at just how frickin awesome they are and the latest addition has just one screenshot so far, but it looks tremendous. As if Journey itself didn’t look amazing enough on it’s own. If all of this sounds like nonsense to you, Journey is an arcade game on the PlayStation Store. But it’s not any old PSN game, it is the fastest-selling PSN game ever! It has just come out, got brilliant review scores, and is made by thatgamecompany, the folks behind the outstanding flOw and Flower.

No details yet, but I’m guessing there won’t be a level pack, as Journey is much smaller than previous level packs like Toy Story or The Muppets. But you can clearly see our favourite Sackboy looking as cute as always in this amazing Journey costume. So like I said, no more details on whats’ actually in the pack, but we do know that it’s coming out some time in April. Now, marvel at the beautiful screenshot! (Please excuse the size of these bloody things!)

UFG + Mm = LBP KARTING!

Hello all! Long time no see. I know it’s been a while since posting on here for me, and what better time than now to post and share some news that I’m sure you’ve already heard. We’ve known there was a karting game coming but so many questions remained unanswered. Well at least some of those questions can be laid to rest. Just 3 days ago, PS blog broke the news that United Front Games will in fact be creating this new karting game with Media Molecule. Kind of a strange move IMO but exciting nonetheless. I mean Modnation was and is quite an amazing game, but imagine the tools, personality and charm Media Molecule will inject into this new spin-off title. Just watch the trailer. Come on you’ve already seen this 100 times. You might as well watch it another time here.

Play, Create, Share with this latest chapter in the LittleBigPlanet franchise: LittleBigPlanet Karting, a fast-paced, competitive and cooperative karting adventure featuring Sackboy in 3D environments.

Play: from intense classic kart racing to ultra-competitive arena battles, and from adventurous karting expeditions to objective-based missions, LittleBigPlanet Karting has it all. Players can also expect boss battles and mini-games, all the while speeding through vibrant, unique game worlds with the objective of saving the Craftworld universe.

Create: customization is key! Players can customize their Sackboy, karts, and much more. I’m just waiting to find out what kind of tools we’ll be given for this new game. Just knowing what magic Media Molecule is capable of and having seen what United Front Games did with Modnation Racers, it looks like a ‘win-win’ for us fans. I know KAPBAM is very excited, as you may remember what turned him off from Modnation Racers was the characters themselves and lack of charm that was so ever-present in LBP.

I’m sure you’ll all agree that this love child of LittleBigPlanet and ModnationRacers will be welcomed into the world with open arms. We’ll see as more information gets released if this ends up being the bastard step-child or a well received love letter to the fans of LBP. What do you think?

You might be thinking this is a strange time to welcome you guys, some of you have been here for years, but I’m testing out something, I’m trying to get this post at the top of the LBPG page so that when newcomers come along, they are welcomed! And if you have just visited for the first time! Welcome, we’re sure you’ll have a fun time here!

2012 is going to be a big year for LBPG in many aspects. We’ve already got a new author, and plenty of awesome stuff planned!

Are UFG making LBPKarting or not?

Yesterday I showed you folks a photo of ‘LBPKarting’ found at a Destination PlayStation event. Now if you were reading the comments, you’ll have noticed that I was pretty confident that the game would be made by United Front Games. Well, it’s still a posibility, but the clues aren’t quite as clear anymore. It was thought that UFG would be making LBPKarting because they were apparently working on an un announced PS3 game. Problem is, today they annouced that game, and its not LBPKarting. It’s called Sleeping Dogs, there is no news on this game, but the real speculation is now around who is making LBPKarting? It still could be UFG because they were reportedly looking for Track Designers which obviously makes sense, but what if they were needed for ‘Sleeping Dogs’?

In short, we just don’t know. We’ll just have to wait and see, hopefully we’ll find out sooner rather than later.

A new LBP Game!?!? (UPDATED)

Now this really has come as a surprise! It looks like Media Molecule are having a go at a kart race called LittleBigPlanetKarting! Now when you say that, you think Modnation Racers, why do we need another one? This is very strange as I recall Mm saying they were leaving the LBP series. I don’t know if this is just a spin-off or not but the picture shows that it will be out on the PS3, so it appears to be a retail game! Not PS Vita or PSN.. sorry.. SEN.

The screenshots at the bottom looks brill but I’m really taken back by this, cant wait to find out more!

UPDATE: It has recently been reported that United Front Games (the folks who made Modnation Racers) are making this game, not Media Molecule. Apparently UFG had been working on a un-announced PS3 game and they were hiring more peeps for the job. On their twitter account they said they would announce the game January-March this year. Modnation Racers took a lot of inspiration from LBP1, so I think this is a safe bet, LBPKarting will made by UFG. You can never have enough LBP
